You know we have a problem when major hospitals are advertising and opening clinics for “Tech Neck” and “Text Neck.” Postural issues that were once seen predominantly in the elderly are now rampant in all age groups, even teens and tweens. Laptop computers were bad enough, but cell phones now have us permanently slumped forward 24/7. People don’t look up as they walk around – some cities are even installing signs & lights on the ground to alert texters while they walk around glued to their phones. This creates a whole new postural issue for us to address with our clients and classes. We’ll take a look at ways to change habits, introduce alternative strategies, and integrate corrective exercises into classes and private sessions. You will leave with exercises and sequences you can integrate into your lesson plan on Monday!
